A company built around a sketchbook
For more than 20 years Elin Therese worked with graphic design, illustration and visual communication – much of it in a digital world.
When creating digitally no longer felt quite as authentic, she returned to starting every idea in a sketchbook.
That simple habit eventually became the heart of Jonsdotter.

The story behind the name
Jonsdotter is more than a name. It is part of Elin Therese's family history.
Born Jonsson, Elin Therese found the name Jonsdotter while tracing her family history. Her grandfather's grandmother, Maria Katharina Jonsdotter, lived in Arvidsjaur in northern Sweden — and carried a name that would, generations later, find its way back into the family in a new form.
What began as a way of honouring that family connection has come to represent something more: a respect for traditional craft, natural materials and the knowledge passed from one generation to the next.
Jonsdotter isn't about recreating the past. It's about carrying something of it forward — and giving it a place in the things we make today.

I'm Elin Therese — founder of Jonsdotter.
I've always been drawn to analogue ways of creating and the quiet beauty of traditional craft. Paper, bookbinding, drawing and painting — I love working with my hands and learning how things are made.
Much of my inspiration comes from nature, color and the beauty of repetition. Flowers, leaves and simple everyday details often find their way into my sketchbooks, usually through imperfect lines, playful shapes and plenty of pattern.
For me, Jonsdotter is where all of those things come together — craft, creativity and a love for making things by hand.
